Support date on the X-axis (with custom ranges) for activity over time

Getting bar graphs, switching between number of chars or chats and a few other enhancements would be nice.

I don't know much about matplotlib yet, or I would've definitely contributed. Good job!

Adding date ranges is something I am interested in doing, and I think would definitely improve this and some other scripts. For now, if you want this functionality you can use head and tail or just manually take out some lines of your chatlog between the ranges you're interested in. I'll be writing this feature into the scripts very soon.

With regard to bars, I don't think this would be very useful but if it's easy to add, I will do so.
