Also your configured workspace is ~/Exercism, though you cd into ~/exercism. For your filesystem these are the same, though not for the CLI. This is a longstanding issue on macOS and Windows, where we still do not have a solution for that wouldn't introduce additional issues.

@arydevy your problem is not the same. You are struck by #928, #949 and #905.

Either link/copy the configuration between location where it was written initially and where the snap expects it to be or use manual installation method.
