Changing Side Menu item click behavior

What I want to explain my opinion is:

the first VC is open at right and side menu is open on the left

when I click the first menu item which represent first VC, can it open first VC one more time but not calling ViewDidLoad() just open first VC where it remains from last open

can I apply this by using current API method?
