[Inkscape Feature Request] Draw Metadata

Taking printing as an inspiration, when you print a file from Chrome it embeds the URL, date, title, etc.

Would it be possible to autogenerate a Hershey string of the filename and/or date in one of the corners for proofing purposes?

There's nothing like that at present. It could be done through AxiDraw Merge, but might be best done as a feature addition to that which supports different variable-field types.

I dont see more than a mention of Axidraw Merge on your site. I assume this is closed beta? Is it Inkscape based or CLI?

It's Inkscape based, and discussed more in section 11.8 of the user guide.
