[Feature]: Internationalization
Description
There are four types of text that devs need to internationalize:
- Content from their queries
- Strings that are arguments to components (label, title etc.)
- Strings in markdown
- Hardcoded strings in layouts and components which Evidence controls (e.g. "Home", Date formats in charts)
The initial priority would be French & English support.
What problem would this solve?
Build embedded applications for international/ multi-lingual use cases.
How should it work?
Rough thinking for this right now is:
- Exposing a global option for users to toggle their language (e.g. in the kebab menu or header)
- Exposing the state of that option such that it can be used like an input to control query behaviour and be invoked in templates
- Some solution (e.g. https://github.com/kaisermann/svelte-i18n) to support dictionaries of terminology -- this could also be a documented pattern for leveraging partials
- Finally, respecting the above in the built-in components
Hello, is there any ETA on this? I really like your solution but the lake of i18n prevents me of using it
