Energyflow: add ext/aux meters as consumption expand
Would be nice to be able to add these devices:
here:
In the same way as it is at the solar systems view.

Nice, looks great. My one would be easy to implement, the other one much prettier.
Maybe a mix of both would be nice.
Since the ext/aux mechanism can be used for all kinds of meters (sub-circuits, ...) I'm not sure if it's save for us to assume, that all these meters can be considered "house consumption". We should add a dedicated flag for the user to opt-in (or opt-out) of this feature.
@unstressable Your screenshot implies that you've added the devices as "Intelligenten Verbraucher" (AUX-Meter). This feature is intended for devices that will self-regulate their consumption if no excess energy is available (see description in ui). In practice this will lead wo unexpected behavior because evcc will assume that your washing machine will pause if we start charging the car.
The right way to model this is to add your regular consumers as EXT-Meters. This is not possible via UI configuration yet.
Thanks for clarifying that aux-meters are not intended for my purpose. I've now integrated my devices as ext-meters, evcc starts well, but I don't see any of them in the graphical user interface. It would be great if my suggestion above could be considered.
Here's how I did:
meters:
- name: grid1
type: custom
power:
source: mqtt
topic: evcc_meters/grid1_power
- name: Waschmaschine_links
type: custom
power:
source: mqtt
topic: evcc_meters/Waschmaschine_links
- name: Waschmaschine_rechts
type: custom
power:
source: mqtt
topic: evcc_meters/Waschmaschine_rechts
site:
title: Home
meters:
grid: grid1
ext:
- Waschmaschine_links
- Waschmaschine_rechts
It would be great if my suggestion above could be considered.
@unstressable yes, it is considered as a thing we want to do (see labels). My aux-comment was just a hint for you, that you don't run into unexpected behaviors.
this is a nice feature. I hope the ext meters will also feed back the HEMS so you get detailed statistics on your hems, too
It has been in the making for quite a while but now all the pieces are there: https://github.com/evcc-io/evcc/pull/24316
