Both extruders heat up even though only one is enabled

Open dcacklam opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

I have my printer set up with ABS on one side and PETG on the other. FlashForge Creator Pro 2016 Cura 5.0

When I go to print using the left (PETG) extruder, with the right extruder disabled, both extruders heat up.

From the readme at the top

If using only SINGLE nozzle, please DISABLE UNUSED EXTRUDER before slicing to avoid heating up both nozzles and printing brim/skirt/raft with a different extruder! When using dual extrusion it's recommended to use ooze shield. Also use prime tower for the cleanest result, but it will significantly increase printing time and result in many tool changes due to dual extrusion implementation in Cura.

Remember - Extruder 1 is RIGHT, Extruder 2 is LEFT!

Please, carefully read both Installation and Post Install sections below.
