Mermaid support

How difficult would it be to replicate this behavior: https://github.blog/2022-02-14-include-diagrams-markdown-files-mermaid/ ?

We can do this with the external pandoc adding mermaid filter.

Is that just a configuration update on my side, or does the plugin need to be changed?

@landao314 I'm unclear - to do Mermaid, I'd need to switch from internal markdown to pandoc, and configure pandoc with Mermaid? Is there an existing guide to doing this?

@nyarly have you been able to figure out what to configure to preview mermaid? We are using mermaid more and more and it would be helpful for me to have them rendered in the preview.

I think "use pandoc" is the best answer here? I haven't figured that part out because getting pandoc+Mermaid is its own challenge I haven't tackled. I'd love to hear about any successes here, though

@nyarly I tried out https://github.com/iamcco/markdown-preview.nvim and there we have full mermaid support and a number of cosmetic niceties when displaying markdown in the browser.

I have used vim-markdown-compose for many years and am grateful to @euclio for creating it and making it available. At this point in time markdown-preview has a feature set much closer to my current workflow.
