[BUG]: The flow for getting approval for Etsy integration seems broken
Is there an existing issue for this?
- [X] I have searched the existing issues
Describe the bug
We've implemented an integration with the Etsy API for our e-commerce SaaS and submitted an application well over a month ago. We have not heard back, and our application has stayed in the awaiting approval status.
I've tried emailing [email protected] and [email protected] but again, I haven't received any notice.
This is extremely urgent for our business as we're trying to sign several large clients that require the Etsy integration for our software.
Steps to reproduce
We used the ETSY API v3 for the integration and requested approval on an active Etsy Shop's developer account. The Etsy shop has multiple years of high 5-figure sales.
After requesting full access from the developer portal we haven't had any sort of updates in well over a month.
Expected behavior
We'd like to get feedback on our integration and any required changes necessary to get approved and launch this integration to our users.

@etsyachristensen
We are in same situation with ETSY. Any update yet to your email to them?
Rest assured, the process is not broken. We have had a lot of requests. Our trust and safety teams have to evaluate each request, especially when "full access" is requested. There is more security around this now than there used to be and we are taking each request seriously. I can't speak to the timeline for each of your app requests as I'm not on that team. But they are working through them as fast as they can.
We are in the same position, have been waiting for many weeks.
Have you all checked your apps page to see if it lists a status? https://www.etsy.com/developers/your-apps
I'll forward again to the support team.
"Awaiting Approval". thanks.
@etsyachristensen We have also been waiting for now several weeks and still just the "awaiting approval" message The message is ok, just not helpful as it does not help us to know if we are actually making any progress in the "waiting line"
@etsyachristensen 3rd time rejected after waiting almost 10 weeks and no reason or details on why were rejected again. What would be the best way to correct the reason for why we were rejected then? We are certainly willing to try again, but if we make same submission, then wouldn't reject us again?
If your app is being repeatedly rejected, and you are unsure why. Or, if you do not see any update in your apps page, https://www.etsy.com/developers/your-apps, then you can get in touch with us directly at [email protected].
When you get in touch please provide us with your api key and we can check on the status of the app for you.
@kmcdermott17 kmcdermott17 @etsyachristensen Thank you for your messages.
We have sent many many email messages though never received any reply except for the first automated-we-received-acknowledge reply and then nothing and that is weeks ago.... It is very disconcerting as we have a strong business case, and ready to provide all our customer =s with ETSY access and we are just waiting for this developer access . We would pay THOUSANDS of dollars so just to get this access, though I am sure you cannot pay your way through. We are myKindaShop owned by the myEcommerce corporation and we are already providing Inventory management System for hundreds on Amazon and Walmart. We are willing to provide any information to ETSY to get our profile accepted, but would first need to get ESTY to reply to our email.
FYI:

Just to chip in my two cents here about emailing the developers email address.
That first automated response you get back from them gives you lots of info to try to get you to do some self help. BUT it says that you need to respond to that email if you want the team to continue to look into your original query.
If you don't respond to it then I think they never actually see your original query.
This is what I'm talking about from their auto response.
@mwashington2022 Gareth064 is correct. If you are needing additional help be sure to reply to the initial informational email you receive. I’ll also reach out to our support team to ensure you get a response to your most recent email. They will be able to discuss any details regarding your app with you directly.
@kmcdermott17 @etsyachristensen Hello, our development team has also encountered the problem of integrating Etsy API. At present, after repeatedly trying to apply for developers, we are waiting for approval every time. Then we wait until the result is rejected, and we don't know why we are rejected. At the same time, we also contact the official Etsy platform through email and other forms. Except for the email replied by the machine, we didn't get an effective reply. Can you give some effective suggestions on applying for developers? Or is it to provide an effective contact method for technical communication with Etsy platform? At present, many of our customers operate stores in Etsy. We hope we can integrate Etsy API as soon as possible to help them manage stores.
The application information of the last application developer rejected is as follows: APP NAMEE:ccang ERP KEYSTRING:l284o585r6kvsyj6c8l94euq
