What would you like to change?

Looking for more details on how the following geo parameters affect the search results & what are their interactions: lat/lon, geo_level & location. Some of following questions are special use-case specific perhaps not all answers should be fully documented there, but we couldn't find a technical Q&A forum to ask.

Namely wondering:

1. Do the lat/lon parameters do a distance search under the hood? If so what are the default radius & units used?

2. Does specifying a geo_level with lat/lon constraint the search area of results? ie: geo_level=city&lat=43.651070&lon=-79.347015 gives results within for Toronto? Greater Toronto area or municipality proper?

3. Is there any difference in search results when specifying geo_level + lat/lon vs geo_level + location?

4. What is the syntax on location names or is it fuzzy? ie: location=Montréal vs location=Montreal vs location=Island%20of%20Montreal (url encoded) give different results counts.
