ArmoryQT crashes when building Databases

Open Rolfie opened this issue 11 years ago • 8 comments

ArmoryQT crashes everytime during the building Database and Scan phase. This happens nearly at the end, around 99%.

I run Windows 7, and started the Armory client as Administrator. The windows error report says:

Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: ArmoryQt.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 49180193 Fault Module Name: _CppBlockUtils.pyd Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 5294de6a Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00001a11 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.4 Locale ID: 1043 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

The armorylog.txt just mentiones this as last message: 2014-01-31 16:11 (INFO) -- armoryengine.pyc:12479 - Reading blockchain, pct complete: 99.0

This could be caused by a corrupt block file created by Bitcoin-Qt. Please give me the last file (numerically) in the bitcoin blocks dir that has the format "blkNNNNNN.dat" - I guess the file will be blk00111.dat give or take one or two. You can transfer it to us via https://www.wetransfer.com/ and inform me here or by email, [email protected]

Once I receive your file, I can quickly determine if it's just a corrupt file, and if so, if you blow away the blocks and download them again, the problem should go away.

I send the link by e-mail. If it is the case that the file is corrupt, it would be nice that Armory-Qt itself does not crash, and preferably also generates an error indication that the block is corrupted.

Hi Rolfie, I looked at your file and didn't find anything too exotic in there. Can we also take a look at the end of your armorycpplog.txt ?

Send us your log file at [email protected] and link this thread in there so we can found you out. Why do you run Armory with admin privileges? Does it not run without it?

I send the log files by e-mail, any updates on this? If you need more information, I can provide you with this.

Regarding the reference to issue #171, I do not have many transactions or accounts in this case: it is simply a fresh wallet.

If possible, please test this with pull #186.

I'm sorry, couldn't test this with pull 186. I tried the new beta released, I think 0.91.1, but that version did not start my Armory client at all, neither in offline mode. Anyway, the latest version (0.91.99.8-beta) does starts and syncs successfully, and thus this issues sounds as solved.

Has there been find a solution to this problem? I have the same problem over and over again. I have installed armory two times on two different computers. Every time it is at 99% I get an error 'Missing headers'. What to do?
