Just checking in on this; is there any planned timeline yet for the 5.0.0 release? Specifically looking to get the crypto backend work in a consumable release.

Hey, thanks for poking at me!

I think the release is near! Still have a few breaking things in mind to stuff into 5.x. May be in a month.

Sorry for it is taking so long!

Awesome! I'll keep an eye out for it.

Hi @etingof, just checking in on this. Any idea when this might happen?

Hey Matt!

Sorry for it is taking time... I had to partially refocus on something else lately.

However, we are inevitably moving towards the better pysnmp - just look at all the recent changes that will land in 5.0! That's the curse of major version bump - everything breaking tends to pour in there...

Looks like a lot of great progress! Any idea on an order of magnitude on when the release might happen?

Checking in again. Any idea on a rough timeline yet?

If there is still a big backlog, would you be open to the idea of a 4.5.0 release that integrates the crypto backend updates?

@etingof Any updates on the above?

Is there anywhere that you are tracking what you have planned for a 5.0.0 release?

Hey, I just put together a project to track the items that make sense to address... The items are ordered from most desirable ones.
