This PR also tries to resolve the ky dependency bump issue detailed in https://github.com/ethersphere/bee-js/issues/762

The branch introduces again the webpack build environment

Hey,

sorry, but we are not planning to reintroduce webpack into the build. There is WIP on pre-release that will be ESM only and that will allow upgrade to Ky. We plan to have it released as a custom NPM build tag in order for us (and our users) to prepare for the upcoming break.

okay, until then this branch can produce a working solution for React and Chrome extension projects for which we needed this.

Why don't you want to reintroduce webpack btw?
