batman: FreeBSD support?

It seems as though it doesn't look in /usr/local/man for user-installed programs. Is it possible to add this for batman?

batman actually uses the man command the distro provides, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be able to find installed man pages. Does the regular man command also fail to find those manual pages?
