Broken event alerts on MacOS Calendar.app

Hi! I want to report an issue that appears serious to me, which is that event alerts (AKA notifications) are being broken through synchronization, even after enabling them multiple times. On MacOS (11.2.3) I'm using etesync-dav version v0.30.7.

The issue appears to happen like this:

  • In MacOS, Calendar preferences, under the EteSync calendar account I enable default alerts. I disable the option to use the default alerts only on this computer, so that the alerts will sync to other devices. My intent is that whenever I create a new event, it should receive an alert based on the default setting and I want that alert to be synced to my other devices as well.
  • Create an event and observe that it receives the default alert correctly.
  • Wait for sync, or Refresh Calendars manually.
  • Observe that alerts are now disabled in the EteSync calendar account settings, and the event that previously had the alert no longer has an alert attached to it.
  • Now I will not be notified of my event on any of my devices.

I'm not sure if there is any connection to the other devices that are syncing, but in my case I am syncing to another Android devices that's running Etar.

Thanks for considering this and regards.

I will note that when I create an event in Etar on my Android device, the default alert is properly synced over to MacOS. Therefore, I felt the issue is pertaining to MacOS only, however, I can't be certain about this.
