Cannot use associate invitation code

I have a subscription to EteSync. I am trying to add an account without a subscription as an associate account so that it can read some collections on my account.

I am trying to follow the "If I want to share a calendar with my spouse, do I need to get two subscriptions?" section in FAQ. It says to "share the associate invitation link" from the dashboard however on the dashboard I only see an associate invitation code, no link. The dashboard says "to invite associates, have them signup and apply the invitation code on the dashboard after they do" however I do not see any place to enter the code in either account's dashboard.

The syncing was working correctly between the two account when I first signed up but has recently stopped, I think maybe once the free trial ended on the account without a subscription.
