Data is not synced
Hello, my EteSync App stopped syncing data a while ago. When manually pressing the sync button in the app no errors are displayed, but also data is synced. I tried removing and readding my account. I also reinstalled the app. The problem remains the same. For some reason the app does not actually fetch any data from the EteSync servers. This makes the whole service essentially useless for me since I only use to sync data between my computer and phone.
Sorry, I missed this ticket.
What happens when you try logging in to pim.etesync.com?
Do I need to use http or https? The first gives me the error message Moved Temporarily, the second returns HTTP error 405! Code: 'null'. Detail: 'null'.
I am experiencing the same problem, too. Triggering the sync manually works just fine, but according to the log, there is just not a single sync triggered automatically (using the 15-minute interval). Edit: Test duration was approx. 2h where not a single sync happened.
Having to manually trigger a sync is by no means a long-term solution, so I would be glad if you could fix the automatic synchronisation asap.
@tasn This problem is still not fixed. I tried everything I could, but EteSync continues to not sync anything to my Android phone. This is a service I am paying for. I f you cannot fix the issue, I want a refund! (And regarding @JuliDi's comment, manually syncing does not work for me.)
@lheinke for me it started working again a couple of days ago, not sure how well, though. From time to time, now I get again the notifications about how many entries have been synced. Maybe @tasn did fix something under the hood?
But I agree that the lack of support for a paid service is very unfortunate.
I hoped it was just a temporary problem, but it still does not work for me. Did a reinstallation today and tried it with both the default and pim.etesync.com server. No success. I am happy to help to debug this issue, but I would need @tasn to tell me how.
In the settings you can enable log to file and verbose logging. Maybe that can give you a hint on where it is hanging.
The only entries I get in the log after initiating syncing are these (all personal information has been removed):
2022-08-03 XX:XX:21 2 [com.etesync.syncadapter.AccountSettings] Account ... has version 2, current version: 2
2022-08-03 XX:XX:21 115 [com.etesync.syncadapter.AccountSettings] Account ... has version 2, current version: 2
2022-08-03 XX:XX:21 2 [CustomCertService] CustomCertService created
2022-08-03 XX:XX:21 2 [CustomCertService] No key store for trusted certifcates (yet); creating in-memory key store.
2022-08-03 XX:XX:21 90 [com.etesync.syncadapter.AccountSettings] Account ... has version 2, current version: 2
This does not look particularly helpful to me.
Is that already verbose logging? Doesn't look particularly verbose to me...
