Calendar Sync Failure

[Edits shown at bottom. Issue still a problem if all users are required to uninstall then reinstall Etesync]

After factory reset & Etesync re-install on my wife's Android 11 phone, Etesync calendar account fails to add any events created in the past. Many of those events were for past dates, but some were in the future. Surprisingly, on my Android 11 phone, which was not reset, all of the above-mentioned calendar events are present. Also significant: both phone's accounts are for the same user which is FrogBooger (sorry for the sick humor). Additionally significant: I used my wife's phone to create a new calendar event. After syncing the account on both phone's, that single event shows on both phone's calendar.

As a test, I logged onto my account using a browser on my Windows 10 PC, I renamed both the contacts and calendar. Syncing both phones' Etesync accounts, in the native Android contacts app, my phone's contacts showed 408 contacts, while my wife's showed 0. The calendars on both phone's were unchanged. I found it remarkable that on both phones reflected the new contact and calendar names from my PC browser session.

Deleting and re-adding the Etysync account on my wife's phone didn't help. Neither did a power cycle.

[Edits:]

Sequence:

  1. Uninstalled Etesync
  2. Rebooted
  3. Reinstalled Etesync
  4. Rebooted

Contacts and Calendar events populated correctly in native and 3rd-party apps.

This raises the question of why one phone would require these steps and the other would not. Both phones run Android 11, and both are Motorola new --but different-- models. I'll press Motorola about this tomorrow (Mon 11/7) morning. It's great that uninstalling & reinstalling the app provides a fix. Our experience may be unique. But if it's not, a solution less burdensome on users might be helpful. If there are no more cases like this, then you could close this issue and move on.

Did you get any errors such as what were produced in https://github.com/etesync/android/issues/189? Wondering is this is a related issue?

Could you paste a link for instructions on producing an error log. My Etesync is not self-hosted. Do I run the process on my phone or through a PC browser?
