Removed from chrome store?
I was told it was removed because its got malware in a dialog box
Now extensions shows this
Hmm... thats no good. I tried using CRX viewer to see if that was a possibility but theres no way i can tell to view source because it was already removed. Its weird yours says that though and mine says a different message 🤨
Hey guys, sorry for my neglect. I just want to be clear and state there's no malware so don't worry about that. The extension was removed because it asked for a new tab permission but didn't use it, according to Google.
The Firefox extension remains and in Chrome you can download this repo and manually load the extension. You could also try https://github.com/plibither8/refined-hacker-news which has some of the features you may be missing.
I'll see what I can do to get this extension relisted on the web store but they're telling me it may take some time for a review so I don't know when that'll be. I'll update this issue when I receive the results of the review.
@etcet awesome! thanks so much, even though it hasn't been updated I'm sure tons of people still use it. When I turned off I was utterly shocked how much worse HN is than I could ever remember, it's excruciatingly bad. I'm also super glad to hear its not malware 😅
You can just reenable it (if you like to live dangerously) by going to Manage extensions, opening it and clicking the toggle next to Off.
