Async writes in appenders?

Hey, Been looking through this, wanted to check and confirm that there isn't a way to do async writes for each record logged? Is that a feature that is going to be included at some point? Something like https://logging.apache.org/log4j/1.2/apidocs/org/apache/log4j/AsyncAppender.html
