Privacy when using GitHub

Several users have noticed that the use of GitHub API ask the user for sharing several personal data about her GitHub account. This scenario must be reduced by asking permission for only the basic requirements for allowing the application to work correctly (e.g. the people followed by the GitHub user are unneccessary).
