Steps to Connect to AWS IOT

I was successfully able to flash alexa sdk on lyratd msc and now I want to combine/use the va_aws_iot.c along with alexa to connect to aws iot/mqtt/things. Can anyone provide steps to use the va_aws_iot.c in the app_main.c. I have already gone through the readme.md present in the additional_components directory but the steps are not clear to me. Any help would be highly appreciated.
