Windows 10 x86 python not found

When I try to install a LittleFS using the tool Arduino IDE reports Python not found. Python is newly installed, computer has been rebooted, Python is in the path Versions 2.6, 3.7 and 3.9 for x86 have been tried. Where is the tool looking for Python? It seems to be looking wherever the MS Store installs it, I have installed it by hand (the Python installer) to the defaults since the Store does not have a version for x86.
