I expect, for a major version update like this, not keeping up may be a good thing. Let the dust settle.

The changelog is rather mundane. IDK why they bumped to 4 at all.

I can confirm that it works well with cfitsio4 on Debian (we always use the system provided version, which is currently 4.2.0).
