If you look hard you can see it there on the edge of the sky, growing larger and larger, bigger and bigger, now so tall it fills all the world before you-- how long did it take to come so close? An hour? A day? Months, years, all while you watched it slowly walk from the water, to the land, to the city, your city, your building, your window-- your eyes never moving, never looking at anything else-- huge, dark blue, a rain shadow like a building problem, a bad conversation about to happen, a broken horse about to throw you, a memory you're not ready for. Nearer and nearer, all around you, and then-- what? You are the shadow, you are the growing worry, and from where you are you can see-- yes, there, on the edge of the sky, so small it is almost not there at all-- a tiny person, so far away, so small-- but if only you could come closer... but how long would that take? An hour, a day? Months, years, crossing waters and lands, to another city, another building, through a window...
