Autobidder overcalls 1S instead of 1H holding 5 hearts and 4 spades
['AK.72.KT942.AQT5', '1H', 'P 1C', 'N-S'] # S should bid 1H
From a user. Unfortunately I don't have the board id.
Added unittest for this in 031098f.
Here is the opposite. http://www.saycbridge.com/bid/14-64432d925fa66e6245ffc30c2e:P,1D,1H,P,3H,P,P,P This hand is weird all around.
- I think counting length points instead of HCPs for NT bids is part of SAYC. Therefore south is too strong for a 1NT open.
- A 1H overcall by W, while lucky, is wrong. Either the hearts are strong enough to count as 5 -> Michaels or overcall 1S or double (a double of a minor strongly suggests the majors).
- If south does open 1NT and north transfers to spades, east is probably strong enough for a non-vulnerable takeout double.
