Firefox 85 has issues with transparency and picom. Some sources say 85 works with kwin and transparency, but it's up in the air. Icecat works with picom and transparency, as it's based on an earlier esr release, I would try that if you want it to work with awesomewm and picom/compton/xcompmgr. This was bound to happen as proton ui is on its way and a repeat of the FF25 splits will likely occur.

Icecat doesn't have a binary build so it can take ages to compile it. Perhaps an old version of firefox might work?

Only takes 12 minutes on my 10700k 😉. That aside, I do not suggest using an older version of firefox, as that opens you up to a lot of security vulnerabilities, I would suggest the latest esr build, which is an "older" version of firefox, but with the latest security patches. Most forks like librewolf, waterfox, ect are too up to date to get any results, so esr and icecat (which is based off esr) seem to be the only real options to use this theme unless either someone sends in a bug report to mozilla (for a niche feature on a ui they are phasing out) or take it up with picom/compton devs, as it seems kwin still knows what to do somehow?
