Compex WLE600VX Qualcomm-Atheros QCA9882 support
Hello,
Is this card Compex WLE600VX supported by this athp driver and does it support AP mode ? I plan to use it in OPNsense as an Wi-Fi AP. If so how do I compile this driver (I'm not very familiar with FreeBSD) ?

Yeah, I'm working on the 3x3 version of this NIC.
I'm doing development against FreeBSD-head, so it likely won't work on opnsense with my driver right now as it won't compile :(

I have that card running in pfSense 2.5 (12.1-stable). And, yes, the WLE900VX also works. No .11ac mode yet of course.
@stephenw10 Can you tell me the steps you took to make the Compex WLE600VX card to work on pfSense ? Also what is the performance of this card when running in 2.4GHz band non 802.11ac mode ? Thank you.
Somebody else compiled the driver. I loaded the resulting module. It pretty much just worked. I have failed to compile the driver numerous times now. I'll have to try again.
The performance was nothing special. A 3x3 11.n ath card is currently better from what I have seen. However I was not really testing it for throughput, there are a number of cosmetic issues when it's loaded. I certainly wouldn't use it yet anywhere that matters. Though again the version I'm running is not current.

It works a /lot/ better on freebsd-head where i've fixed up the ampdu/amsdu offload support in net80211.
Please do try it on freebsd-head right now. I'm sure the pfsense folk will integrate it into pfsense soon enough. :-)

There is no special requirement. Anything with a mPCIe slot should work.
