Abnormal disk space growth with `--prune.mode=minimal`
System information
Erigon version: 3.3.0 (but the node started with 3.2.0)
OS & Version: Ubuntu 24.04
Erigon Command (with flags/config): erigon --prune.mode=minimal
Chain/Network: ethereum
Expected behaviour
Disk usage below 400GB after sync, very slow increase over time.
Actual behaviour
~355GB disk usage after initial sync, 1.1TB after 2 months.
I haven't the breakdown for the initial status, but this is the current one:
268G ./caplin
12K ./migrations
32K ./downloader
22M ./nodes
415G ./chaindata
1.1G ./temp
410G ./snapshots
193M ./txpool
157M ./logs
1.1T .
you can rm -rf chaindata to clean up space
@Giulio2002 Can you expand a little bit, please? Why may I delete it? And why is it growing so fast? Shouldn't the --prune.mode=minimal flag keep the storage requirement low?
Re-opening because running a node shouldn't require manual interventions like chaindata removal. Might be related to #17891.
