Support for Habitat 2 and other ROS versions

Hi, Is it planned to evolve the package such that it supports Habitat Sim/Lab 0.2.0 and newer? And what about other ROS versions? Ros1 Melodic or newer ROS 2 distributions?

Hi @AdriannaGmz the current version is compatible with Habitat Sim/Lab 0.2.0 + ROS1 Melodic.

We don't have plans yet to upgrade it to support later Habitat Sim/Lab versions or ROS2.

Hey @AdriannaGmz Sorry I made a mistake in my last answer - the package is compatible with ROS1 Noetic but not Melodic.

But before we bumped support to Noetic back in 2021 we did have the "under development" version of the package running on ROS1 Melodic + Habitat Sim 0.1.x. So to get it working on Melodic I guess you just need to rollback the ROS pacakges it depends on and make changes to their API calls in the package. And I don't think you need to change anything on the Habitat side since Habitat Sim/Lab doesn't depend on ROS.

Ok, thanks! I'm using it with just Habitat 0.2.0 (Lab andSim) . I could not use the newer version of Habitat lab or sim my real interest is in whether you plan to upgrade this bridge to support newer Habitat versions. Thanks!
