Feature request: Post status changes
Would be great with a notification to slack whenever the "status" of a post changes. Is this possible to code in the plugin?
We'd love to have this as well for our multi-author site. Our editors set posts as Pending review and our head staff are the ones actually publishing articles. So it'd be great to know when posts are pending approval (and later transition to Published or set back to Draft when further editing is needed)
Is it enough if you can send notification on any status change? Or you need specific status changes like from X to Y @jphorn @collentine?
I would like to have specific transitions for my use case. E.g. from Draft -> Pending, Pending -> Publish and Pending -> Draft. I consider the last one a nice-to-have. The first two are most important.
How would notifications for any status change look like? I'm afraid that's too noisy.
PS The other Slack plugin already has such feature.
When a post needs review (status transitioned to 'pending') When a post is published When there's a new comment
And bonus points if the Pending and Published transitions could be published to different channels (e.g. #review and #published)
@erayalakese as long as it's 'status changes' it should work fine.
Describing my specific use case so you can get a better understanding: Running a multi-user wordpress site with many contributors. When someone finishes a contribution two other people proofread it before editor publishes it. Solved by custom statuses that change after each person: Draft -> "custom status 1" -> "custom status 2" -> "Ready for Publishing" -> Published Would like a push notification to Slack for each status change
I would love to be able to get notifications regarding Pending posts as well.
