Unfortunate new UI colour combos

I have only one quibble with the latest update: In the revamped UI colour scheme, choosing one of two colours washes a dark mode interface in hues of that colour. In my case, picking the "red" (a dainty pink) means the entire screen is now fleshy browns and pinks.

The latest iteration used colour for contrast, accenting the general interface (light/dark) mode. This is just... bland — and terrible colour choice. I'm happy to blame it on compatibility with the new Material You, but hope it's possible to tune the UI back toward the former colour options, and actual dark mode, in future versions.
