how to select Envoy-OpenSSL or maistra/envoy

How do we select between this envoy-openssl project and maistra/envoy ?

Seems this https://github.com/maistra/envoy was maintained by Redhat but no way to submit issues or questions.

And also seems no new release in this year 2023 .

so what's the difference between these two projects ? And any pros and cons can be shared?

The integration option with Istio is still pending.

The Maistra version of Envoy is a refactored version to work with OpenSSL 1.1.1 and is a component of Service Mesh.

The Envoy-OpenSSL is currently intended to be a version of Envoy with less requirement for heavy refactoring for OpenSSL on each upstream release and uses OpenSSL 3.0 primarily targeting the idea of upstream first.
