Allow communication over https for servers with self-signed certificates?

right now if a server sends an API request with server_url: http__s__://something and has a self-signed certificate, enketo will not be able to retrieve the form (or submit data)

I imagine it's just a curl setting. Not sure if there are disadvantages of doing this.
