Don't save file in a folder whose name contain non english char (éè...)

Description Some of my folder has french name as downloads -> "Téléchargements" and no way to save in this folder on other folder like "Documents" no issue

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open a WhatsApp message who contain pictures '...'
  2. Click on 'Download'
  3. Select folder "Téléchargement"
  4. Click on OK
  5. No files save

Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen. Save the file on folder who contain non-english char Screenshots If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem. image

Environment

  • Distro: Mageia 8 64-bits
  • Package: Flatpack 1.5.0 (flathub com.github.eneshecan.WhatsAppForLinux)
  • Desktop Environment or Window Manager : KDE Plasma 5.20.4

Hmm, just out of curiosity I tried to reproduce this and I successfully did. My system language is set to Dutch, but just for this issue I created a folder called ‘Téléchargements’ and it did not save the image there. It did, however, save it when I selected ‘Downloads’ instead. So this does seem to be a real issue. I'm also using KDE Plasma, but 5.26 on openSUSE Tumbleweed and WhatsApp for Linux compiled from git instead of Flatpak like the OP.
