If i just enter VWii mode normally, then start the WiiVC through homebrew channel, will that let me use gamepad?

the only way to make wiiu gamepad work is to start wii 64 through wiiu menu with a wiivc inject just install both of this forwarders in wiiu menu

this will start the dols on the sd card on the locations

sd:apps/wii64/boot.dol and sd:apps/wii64 rice/boot.dol

just make sure those paths are in the sd card, if you start wii64 through both of this channels you can use the wiiu gamepad.
