Currently they will only return 0 (though this doesn't seem to affect any replayer I've tested with)

Currently it was basically baked from blargg's snes_apu code, and I find it kindof ugly. It can probably be written in a more semantically-clear way, esp. with regards to when...
Right now what's there does work, but it should be as accurate as possible.
Might need to reconsider how it worked in the first place to make it more Rust-friendly.
