There is an mistake in this command: docker run -d --name prometheus -p 9090:9090 -v /path/to/your/prometheus.yaml:/etc/prometheus.yaml prom/prometheus --config.file=/etc/prometheus/prometheus.yaml u mount the *.yaml to etc but later search for it in etc/prometheus/ so it does not work. for me this does the trik: docker run -d --name prometheus -p 9090:9090 -v .\prometheus:/etc/prometheus prom/prometheus --config.file=/etc/prometheus/prometheus.yaml but \prometheus is now a folder with the yaml in it
