[Bug] Data backup does not export collection/group names

Open JannemanDev opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

What did I do

I have many connections which are grouped into several collections/groups ("folders"). Then I do Settings > Data backup On a different installation I do Settings > Data recovery.

What happened

All collections/groups ("folders") are gone and all connections are on the same (root)level.

Expected

It should also export the collections/groups ("folders") information in which the connections reside.

Environment

Both latest Windows 11. 100% reproducable. Smallest test case: -create 2 groups: Group1 and Group2 -inside each group create 1 connection (you can keep everything default, just rename the connection to for example "GroupXConnection1" where X is groupname. -Settings > Data Backup -on other clean MQTTX instance Settings > Data recovery

I attached this testcase and a before and after screenshot.

Before export: before_export

After import: after_import

Exportdata (had to rename it to .txt because of Github upload limitation) test_exportDataFromMQTTX.json.txt

Hi, @JannemanDev Thank you for your feedback. However, this is not a BUG but an unfinished feature of MQTT X. We will continue to improve this part. We will let you know in time after the update. I appreciate your understanding of the inconvenience caused.
