LayerGroup doesnt affect colorbars

If I include a GeoJSON layer and Colorbar in the same LayerGroup, the controls only affect the GeoJSON layer. I have 5 different cluster layer options... is there an alternative way for the colorbar to turn off when a layer is de-selected?

This seems to be a more general issue with the colorbar. I can't find a way to make callbacks work with colorbars. It seems like a static component. If anyone knows how to make callbacks work with colorbars, please enlighten us!
