Deploy to Heroku not working

I get error "No app.json located in the repo URL provided"

Okay it's built now but I just get a page that says

"Heroku | Welcome to your new app! Refer to the documentation if you need help deploying."

And a white screen. Any help? I'm not familiar with using heroku
