[dangerous/deadly] synchronization bug with hydroxide/proton leading to deleting emails that were not chosen

A few days ago i used the usual setup via mutt to log into proton. i noticed that i just received an email in my proton box but it didnt show up in my mutt via hydroxide setup. this happens at times, nothing unusual so far. I restarted hydroxide and the also mutt, at this point usually all emails show up that have been received. Nothing. I waited for a few more hours. noticed that new emails do show up correctly apart from that specific email that is in fact in my emailbox but hydroxide still cannot sync correctly -- it still doesn't show up in my mutt but it does show up when i log into my web protonmail! That was unusual, so i waited for another 12 hours ... deleting other newer junk mail that made it into my inbox ... this was done via hydroxide/mutt setup. Deleting "successfully" and logging out of mutt. At that point I realized It had deleted that specific email which was never read and never showed up in my mutt .... I could not even have selected it since it never showed up in mutt!! How can hydroxide delete it then? That email also wasn't in my Trash folder, unretrievably disappeared from a user's perspective. Quite scary. Point is, there is a dangerous synchronization bug hidden in hydroxide .... be aware, be careful everyone. I will refrain from using it.
