This is a very annoying quirk. Breaks read-only envionments completely, like running inside a [Nix](https://nixos.org/) store path.
Can repro on HEAD, running from custom Nix derivation on NixOS. No abnormal logs. Same issue on a completely normal Windows PC, running the latest tag.
What's the status on this? Could you at least publish the branch so people can test it out?
I tried enabling Wayland, but I get the following error:  I realize I'm a very early wine-WL adopter, but can you see any easy fix?
