Labeling for special effects
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Due to all the effects of
- professional secrets ('Berufsgeheimnissen'),
- skill specialization ('Fertigkeitsspezialisierung')
- general special skills ('allgemeinen Sonderfertigkeiten') and
- spell enhancements ('Zaubererweiterungen')
you sometimes lose overview of the positive effects you have.
For example for alchemists all the professional secrets for each recipe and the skill specializations are extremely extensive. If this character is also magically gifted as a witch, shaman or mage, things quickly become confusing.
Currently, all of these are listed on the first page of the hero's sheet under 'General Special Skills' ('Allgemeine Sonderfertigkeiten').
Describe the solution you'd like Optolith could improve the orientation by the following addition:
In the column 'Notes' for talents you could provide one the following solutions: (a) the name of the beneficial effect (b) an alphanumeric or numeric footnote with an appropriate enumeration at the end of the page or document (c) an identifier (BG = 'Berufsgeheimnis', FS = 'Fertigkeitsspezialisierung', AS = 'Allgemeine Sonderfertigkeit' and ZE = 'Zaubererweiterung') - as I don't know the English names, I provided abbreviations for the German name
For spells you could either add an additional column or use the column 'Effect' ('Wirkung') for this.
Personally I would prefer the solution c. Even if you still have to look up the respective effect, the information on the hero document is limited, so you would not have a space problem if you had multiple effects applying to each talent.
Hi Ramesch!
First of all: Thank you so much for your detailed request! 😍🥰🤗
It's definitely something I want to address. There are some changes to be made on the way, though, since, e.g., the different effects are not available in the database yet.
I like (a) and (c), although (b) would be cool once Optolith can export rule texts on additional pages, which you could reference then, I think.
I would opt for another idea: Show the application that is affected by an advantage or application.
Like if a character has "Vertrauenserweckend", show the affected applications in the notes of the character. Similar you could show new applications for a skill.
Example:
