Open to uninvited users.

There can't be much of a community if almost nobody is allowed to test it. I'd like to track it being opened to registration without invitation.

@kdawgllc, what does that mean?

Hi @RokeJulianLockhart, it's easy to get an invite, and we'll keep the system in place for now. This has been one of the strongest mitigations we have against spam and abuse, and with much of the web succumbing to LLM content, having a space where humans curate and write together feels important. Users of the site gain invites over time, as well.

I may add a "Request account" feature though, which is similar to what some invite-only Mastodon instances use -- basically a place for folks to tell us about themselves. Then more existing users can approve requests.

@eloquence, I'd consider that to be a sufficient compromise, for, currently, I cannot access it, but ith that, would be able to. I'd like it to be tracked; can I re-scope this issue, or should I create another, if you're not already tracking it?

Awesome, glad to hear it :). Yep, if you have a chance to scope a new issue, that'd be great! <3
