Latest web extension can't install
Expected Behavior
You can install the extension in the web.
Current Behavior
This has been an issue for a while, but I never got around to filing an issue. You can't install in the web. I just deleted it, and now I can't get it at all.
Possible Solution
#185 Make it an optionaldependency. Which doesn't exist, but there are supposedly workarounds?
Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)
- Open vscode.dev.
- Try to install elm.
- Watch it install a rather old version.
Context
I can't get any elm tooling benefits in the web anymore.
Your Environment
- Version used: 2.7.2 (previously)
- Editor name and version: github.dev (1.91.0)
- Environment name and version: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/126.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
- Operating System and version: macOS Sonoma
Oh, it seems that @jmbockhorst acknowledged this a while ago, but I think it's still good to have an issue.
I am working on since now so that we can remove our dependency on the old extension, which can't be installed in the browser. (https://github.com/elm-tooling/elm-language-client-vscode/issues/571#issuecomment-1551691959)
