Features request
Hi,
Can you consider adding these features:
- An option to show the total likes/dislikes at the bottom left corner of the thumbnail , e.g: 👍26K 👎863
- An option to hide the bar and numbers on hover (so we can see the thumbnail preview better)
Thanks.
Hey MrFr1day, Interesting ideas. Thanks for making this feature request.
My personal opinion: The like/dislike ratio and the thumbnail image are more important than the exact like/dislike counts, so it makes sense to hide the exact counts unless hovered. Also, it seems to be a more standard user experience to have the hovering action reveal more technical info rather than less. To me, having the counts showing over the thumbnails as a default would feel too cluttered, and I haven't experienced ever wanting to hide the bottom rating bar to reveal those few pixels of the thumbnail that get covered.
However, that's just my personal taste, so I'll leave this feature request open, and if enough people also show interest in it, I'll consider adding it. I just don't want to stuff in a bunch of settings that most people don't use. I like keeping the settings pane reasonably simple.
Thanks again for making this suggestion.
For me, having the option to display a single number of the likes to dislikes ratio would be so helpful. For example for the example MrFr1day had, 26k likes and 863 would have a ratio number of 90%
Thanks for the suggestions. I am currently no longer developing this extension since I want to spend my time on other projects for now, but people are welcome to submit pull requests or fork this repo and add their own additional features.
Also, I'm assuming you are suggesting there be an option show the percentage number all the time instead of just on hover, but in case you didn't know about the hover feature, you can see the percentage number when you hover over the rating bar, both the thumbnail rating bar and the video page's rating bar.
there was an extension a long time ago that showed % number that you could color code based on tiers
so sad it disappeared
@SolveAllProblemsRightNow I think I remember trying that one back in the day.
