regexp for permitted usernames
Not difficult, but just a proposal. This has been annoying us for a long time - when a member signs up with some unicode characters in their name, for example.
Bonus points if their member name becomes a set of default box glyphs for many people.
This one is one of those that is usually taken care by @Spuds (Teh regex Mastar!) :stuck_out_tongue:
I feel we already discussed about some variations (e.g. those glyphs that are close to very close normal letters and can fake other usernames). In the specific cases we considered I seem to remember the final outcome was not to block everything, but just the most common.
I have no problems writing a good regex, I just want to be able to define my own limits for this. Different forum owners will think differently, etc. Though we could have some presets or something.
