dxWrapper for old FX games
Hello ^^
I have a question and came here for some answers :P
I am trying to play old FX games, like commandos or imperium. In particular, now i am with imperium civitas (can be found on archive dot org)
Do you know a way to run the game on a borderless mode, without breaking my desktop resolution when i tab out of the game?
Dont get mad at me for what im about to say but, i asked gpt for a solution, and it suggested me this
[d3d9]
AnisotropicFiltering = 0
AntiAliasing = 0
EnvironmentCubeMapFix = 0
EnableVSync = 1
ForceVsyncMode = 1
ShowFPSCounter = 0
OverrideRefreshRate = 60
LimitDisplayModeCount = 0
CustomDisplayWidth = 0
CustomDisplayHeight = 0
LimitPerFrameFPS = 0
EnableWindowMode = 1
WindowModeBorder = 0
SetInitialWindowPosition = 0
InitialWindowPositionLeft = 0
InitialWindowPositionTop = 0
FullscreenWindowMode = 1
ForceExclusiveFullscreen = 0
ForceMixedVertexProcessing = 0
ForceSystemMemVertexCache = 0
SetSwapEffectShim = 0
DisableMaxWindowedMode = 0
ForceDirect3D9On12 = 0
GraphicsHybridAdapter = 0
[FullScreen]
FullScreen = 0
ForceWindowResize = 1
WaitForWindowChanges = 0
But using the dsound.dll instead of the d3d9. Thing is, i dont feel it is running on a borderless mode, more like a full screen, because when i tab out, it is not inmediate, and when resuming the game focus, it takes a bit to load, and screen gets black when tabbing in/out.
Thanks for work dude ^^ I appreciate it
Imperium is a dos game, i'm not aware of a win95 port.
Commandos is not considered 4x.
Imperium and commandos were published by FX-interactive, for windows xp
I just checked with Commandos in the latest build and if you enable only these three options you will get windowed borderless mode:
Dd7to9 = 1
Dinputto8 = 1
EnableWindowMode = 1
Here is the latest build: dxwrapper.zip
