Star Trek Bridge Commander

Open Trekkie-ship-it opened this issue 1 year ago • 9 comments

Hi, Thank you for your hard work. I'm running windows 10 on my laptop and trying out dxwrapper on Star Trek Bridge Commander to get around having to use a monitor for it to recognize my nvidia 2060 over the onboard intel 630. With the long term goal of using rtx remix. Using Glow effect or any other effect seems to be broken otherwise it looks alright. Soon after launching quick battle with glow enabled some of the characters are missing on the bridge with some smearing and switching to ship view smears the screen like it went to lightspeed. Tried the 2023 release but that ends up with a seizure inducing strobe. dxwrapper-stbc.log

Thank you

Try with the below update. This is the latest unreleased build. I have put a lot of fixes in here but have not had a chance to release it yet. Need to fix a few things before I release.

Here is the update: dxwrapper.zip

Awesome, that seems to have fix the glow and dust effects. I did run into an issue when trying to open graphic settings and it hard locks the game . dxwrapper-stbc.log

It looks like this game is using a number of things I have not seen with other games, including the following:

10064 17:04:54.617 m_IDirect3DVertexBufferX::Optimize Error: Not Implemented
10064 17:04:54.616 m_IDirectDrawSurfaceX::Blt Error: Blt from MipMap level Not Implemented 1
10064 17:04:54.616 m_IDirectDrawSurfaceX::Blt Error: Blt from MipMap level Not Implemented 2
10064 17:04:54.616 m_IDirectDrawSurfaceX::Blt Error: Blt from MipMap level Not Implemented 3
10064 17:04:54.616 m_IDirectDrawSurfaceX::Blt Error: Blt from MipMap level Not Implemented 4

Not sure if any of these are related to the issue. Try this update: dxwrapper.zip

Tried deleting and having the game recreate the default game option.cfg (attached) along with the new dxwrapper with the same result when trying to click configure graphic options.

options.cfg.txt dxwrapper-stbc.log stbc.RPT.log

Not sure what is gong on here. Does the game work ok if you don't click the "configure graphic options" button?

Can you upload a debug log of the issue when the game hangs? Here is the debug version: dxwrapper.zip

Hi Elishacloud, Yes, the game works as it should with only a minor issue when accessing graphic settings. Thank you.

Try with this one. I added a full fix for the ProcessVertices() function: dxwrapper.zip

Still crashes when clicking graphic options with your latest dxwrapper. dxwrapper-stbc.log

Attached is a zipped Debug log folder from the earlier debug dxwrapper. dxwrapper-stbc.zip

Still crashes when clicking graphic options with your latest dxwrapper.

From the logs, I assume the game is getting minimized when you open the graphics options. I still don't have perfect support for games being minimized.

The issue looks similar to what happens with Unreal Gold and Deus Ex GOTY when you Alt+Tab out and then try and come back.

Looks like the graphic option page fixed with the latest wrapper.
